Ben Affleck’s got a brand new love — but it might not be so new after all.
The actor and “Saturday Night Live” producer Lindsay Shookus were photographed for the first time by paparazzi on Thursday, but People and Us Weekly both report the actor first sparked an affair with Shookus years ago when he was still with Jennifer Garner.
Sources told People that the extramarital fling began in 2013 — two years before Affleck and his estranged wife separated. Shookus was also reportedly married at the time to fellow “SNL” producer Kevin Miller.
“They would fly back and forth, but he would mostly visit her in New York,” one source told the magazine. “They didn’t hide … They would use the Mandarin Oriental (hotel). They were regulars.”
Both Garner and Miller eventually found out about their respective spouses’ affair, another source told the magazine.
“Jen and (Shookus’) husband both found out about it around the same time,” the insider dished.
That timeline didn’t exactly line up with the one an unnamed source presented to Us Weekly, however.
“Ben and Lindsay started their affair about three years ago, just a few months after she became a mom,” the insider told the magazine.
“They were not casually dating — they were having a full-blown affair,” the source told the magazine. “They were sleeping together, sending each other cute texts and meeting up whenever they could.”
The new reports surface a day after paparazzi snapped Affleck and Shookus in Los Angeles enjoying what appeared to be a date night. The photos were published by E! News.
It’s not the first time Affleck has been accused of infidelity, as reports suggested in 2015 that he cheated on Garner with the family nanny, Christine Ouzounian.
Affleck and Garner filed for divorce in April, nearly two years after they announced their separation. Insiders close to the couple confirmed news of their official filing to the Daily News.
The pair filed for joint legal and physical custody of children Violet, 11, Seraphina, 8, and Samuel, 5.
Neither the “Miracles from Heaven” star nor the “Justice League” actor provided a reason for their split.
Affleck and Garner remained amicable, briefly calling off their divorce in March. At the same time, the 44-year-old confirmed that he had just completed rehab for struggles with alcoholism.
